Preserving Adeline's Legacy

'Smile, darn ya: Adeline's Legacy' is a three-generation anthology of poetry, short stories, and reflections by Adeline Canning, her daughter Donna Coral Canning Good, and her granddaughter, Laurie Tanoura. The collection, copyrighted in 2026 by Laurie Tanoura, weaves together the family’s history through their creative works.

Adeline Alzina Keyes Canning (1889-1971):** The foundation of the family, Adeline was an intelligent, self-reliant teacher and poet who raised eight children on her own following a divorce during the Great Depression. Her clever, whimsical poetry serves as the collection's core.
Donna Coral Canning Good (1924-2013):** Adeline's daughter who meticulously preserved her mother’s writings. Her contributions include cherished family stories and reflections on their life.

Laurie Tanoura: The compiler of the anthology and granddaughter of Adeline. She wove the family’s history together with her own poetry, stories, and reflections.

The anthology is organized into acts that trace the family's journey through time, hardships, and growth:
